TMF Pride

This might surprise you, but I've never been to any sort of pride events before. As silly as this probably sounds I've always been worried that a straight person celebrating pride would be seen by some as some sort of appropriation of gay culture, so I've just kind of skipped them, even though I'm more than happy to show some support for our LGBQT+ community members.

Anyway, after Rand gave pride a shout out during his appearance on this week's episode of the TTS podcast, I figured it was about time that I set that right and show my face at one of these events.

To be honest, I very well may have had some mis-conceptions about them. I assumed that everyone would be wearing bright and flamboyant outfits, but that was very much not the case at this event. I turned up in just about the brightest thing that I have and immediately felt like I'd overdone it a little. I mean, i doubt that any of you will have ever have seen me wearing so much colour before!

Lucky for me, Amanda wasn't up to much so I was able to get her to come and join me. And she clearly had the same idea as me since she turned up in something very bright and very sparkly. All of a sudden, all my colour was positively dull in comparison to her outfit. Thank god for Amanda making me feel a lot less self-conscious about my own outfit.
