Think Pink I

All that is left for me to say now, is a lot of thank yous.

Thank you to everyone who support the Think Pink event and who has worn pink throughout the month of October so far. Keep it up!! And to AmandaHThoma, Xanar, SayaX and LilSvet for providing the soundtrack to the night,

Thank you to everyone who turned up last night to help us close the club in style and for all your kind words. I have genuinely been surprised by the amount of love that people have been showing us and how much the club meant to them as well. Your words mean more to me than you will ever know.

Thank you to all the guests who have come back time and time again to AoD and helped to make it the success it has been. We couldn’t have done it without you and your support. In particular, peeps like AmandaHThomas, MissPlaced, Feuermond, SayaX, KuroMegami, HHBabe, DanielaM and JessyDesire who have helped create a great atmosphere whenever they have been around.
Thank you to all AoD members, past and present.

And finally, thank you to Xanar for believing in a silly girl who likes to take pictures and giving me a place to call my home.

Think Pink I

OK, so seems like I had nothing worry about after all because the whole night was an amazing success. The club was packed out throughout with guests wearing pink, the music was awesome and there was a lot of love shown. In fact I found it all a bit overwhelming towards the end of the evening and couldn’t help but blubber my eyes out with a mixture of joy, pride, gratitude and sadness.

During my set we hit 91 people in the club, which is not only a record for Angels of Desire, but as far as I’m aware, is a record for any rock night, beating the previous record set whilst I was working as photographer for the Temple of Lust.

The perfect way to send off the club by going out on a high, I’d say!

So the second reason that last night was such a big night was that it was the last night of the Angels of Desire rockclub. A project that I have been part of since the day after the club first opened its doors to the public just under a year ago. And for approaching 9 months, I’ve had the honour to serve as the club’s Vice President.

The club has given me something amazing memories but also some less savoury ones as well. The last month in particular has been incredibly hard on Xanar and I as we tried to keep the club going strong but last week we finally made the heartbreaking decision to close the doors of the club for good.

Despite all that, I’m immensely proud of everything we achieved during that time.

However, I was still a little nervous whether the announcement that we were closing would make people not bother to turn up, thinking that the club had run out of steam. By the time Xanar took the stage for his DJ set, the club was in full swing.

Wow, last night was truly unbelievable!

Firstly, it was the Think Pink event in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which I have been planning for the past 2 months. We went all out on this event - we even got adverts for DJs to play all month long and, of course, we got our poster on display in the Night Club.

Despite all that, I was still a little nervous about what the turn out would be like because of the other reason that last night was significant, which I will come onto in a bit.

Anyways, Amanda opened the 4 DJ strong bill and got us of to a great start.
