Happy National Nude Day!

I was gonna write an insightful blog piece about National Nude Day, but I got busy sorting things out for the final couple of TTS Podcast episodes and forgot to write anything.

So you get the next best thing instead... a picture of a pair of me and Emmy (who is perpetually naked anyway) cavorting nude by a waterfall. I think it does quite a good job of encapsulating our differing personalities and attitudes towards public nudity.

Bet you are really wish you'd got that blog piece instead, huh?

Havasu Hangout

Gosh, I've had such a hectic week. Most people, when they take a short break, get some long overdue rest or just chillax. Of course, I'm not most people. When I take a break, I want to pack it full of as much fun as I possibly can. If I don't come back in desperate need of rest, then I've just not made the most of that time.

By that metric, this past week has been an massive success. So when I caught up with Amanda at Havasu Falls last night, I had to give her the full rundown of everything I'd been up to. A day by day retelling of my time away, if you will.

She did very well to indulge me as I went on about all these geeky things I love but which are completely over her head. And as a bonus, I even got a quick snuggle with her before it was time to return home for some well-earned sleep. A perfect way to cap off a perfect week!

No Panties Day

It's a few years since I first highlighted No Pants Day. However, back then, I was somewhat uncertain about which meaning of "pants" it referred to.

Was it the US meaning for some bottoms that you wear on your legs? Or was it the UK meaning for the underwear that you would wear underneath those bottoms? Obviously, this potentially makes quite a difference to how you would go about celebrating this day!

Thankfully, it seems that clarification has now been given in the form of a subtle but very informative name change. No Panties Day makes it very apparent which sort of garment you are expected to go without.

So I can now proudly parade around with no underwear on, knowing that, by going commando, I am truly partaking in the spirit of this day.

Of course, you don't need to be as obvious about it as I have chosen to be.

If flashing your nether regions is not for you, you could simply forego wearing any panties under your jeans or whatever. Just because you don't give others a chance to catch a glimpse of your bare lower half, doesn't mean that your outfit choice is not equally valid. You can do whatever is comfortable for you.

Catching some Sunday rays

There are certainly much worse ways to spend a Sunday afternoon than lazily lying on the beach while the sun beats down on your bare skin. Especially when you are absolutely zonked and you feel like you have zero energy.

Of course, precautions must be taken by liberally applying plenty of high factor sun lotion before getting too much sun, especially if you are as pale-skinned as I am. Otherwise you will paying for your leisure time later with red and raw skin. Ouchie!

Also, be sure to have a nice towel to lounge on. When the sun is out, that sand can get hot, hot, hot which can be yet more ouchie! Not to mention sand being all coarse and rough and irritating. And it gets everywhere!

And my final word of warning... Ladies, if you choose to sunbathe topless to avoid getting any of those pesky strap marks and you happen to be on a public beach, take care with where you discard your bikini top to. If you close your eyes and nod off for a little while and it hasn't been safely put somewhere, who knows who might come along and take it away with a souvenier.

I'm not even just talking about other beach-goers either! Those pesky seagulls will steal anything they can get their beaks on and they will feel no guilt about leaving you frantically trying to find something to cover your modesty when it is time to go home. Nobody wants to have to do a wlak of shame back to the car with nothing but your arm across your boobs to cover your nips.

Yeah, not quite how I hoped the day would end... Fucking seagulls!

Practice what you preach

And just to prove that I practice what I preach, here I am supporting Go Topless Day while relaxing on the beach at Havasu Falls.

I know that there are those cynics out there that try to pick holes in everyone's motives and are convinced that people do nothing but virtue signal in a lame attempt to get some attention. I've certainly had that accusation thrown at me more than once with my ongoing support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month each October via my annual Think Pink event.

And I pity those people for having such a bleak outlook on humanity. It must be pretty grim living a life where you don't believe in something strongly enough to be willing to stand up and try to make a difference.

National Nude Day 2020

Apparently it is National Nude Day somewhere in the world. Not sure where. Don't really care. I'll take part in it regardless.

Exploring Havasu Falls

Wow, what an epic adventure! Where to start with this one...

Amanda and I agreed to meet up at Havasu Falls for what I expected was going to be a chilled out catch up. But when we got there, Amanda found a map of the island and, let me tell you, I had no idea that there was so much there. The map marked a number of beauty spots and trails joining them so it was clear that we had to have an explore.

Looking at the name, it was obvious that there was one spot that we absolutely had to visit. So off we set to the secluded Peek A Boo Creek, even though it was not one of the spots that had a trail leading to it - we'd have to walk most of the way and then swim round the coast for the final stretch.

So off we set from Sayulita Bay. We climbed up the mountain through a canyon to Valley Lake, carefully crossed a rope bridge across a deep crevice and then zig-zagged down the side of a cliff on the approach to Eastern Cape. Having finally reached the coast, we stripped down to our swimwear, making sure to safely hide them under a rock, and then took the plunge into the water for a short  swim round the corner of the cliff.

Honestly, Peek A Boo Creek was a bit underwhelming when we got there but there was a rather nice waterfall there. While Amanda recovered from our swim, I did my best impersonation of a 90s music video with a little dance under the falls.

From Peek a Boo Creek, we continued to swim round the island and, before long, we reached the beach of Phantom Bay, at the far end of which there was a quaint little lodge. We peeked inside looking for refreshments but there was nothing to be found there. However, we did take a moment to dry off in front of the fire that someone had left unattended (tut tut).

We didn't get to stay dry for long though. As we got ready for our final swim to get back to the resort in Sayulita Bay where we had started out from, I spotted a waterfall at the end of the canyon that ran alongside the lodge where we'd dried off. I'm not sure why but I just had a hunch that there might be something under the waterfall. So we started wading up Antelope River and, lo and behold, we found that there was indeed a passage under the waterfall.! Unbelievably, it led us all the way back to our start point at Sayulita Bay and a well-deserved drink.

Rehydrated, we pulled the map out again and plotted an alternative route back to where we had left our clothes. This time we decided to take a walk in the opposite direction along the beach at June Bay, before having to take a short swim around the coast via Secret Creek.

Thankfully, when we got back to our destination, our clothes where still where we had hidden them. Amanda was especially pleased by this as she had left one of her favourite chocolate bars in her jeans pocket, which she promptly scoffed down.

And with that, we followed the trail all the way back to the resort at Sayulita Bay and called it an evening.
